Grain Screen Cleaner

Operating Principle

Oscillating screen cleaners play a fundamental role in the grain conditioning process by separating grain from impurities. This separation, based on particle size differences, is achieved through an adjustable feed distribution system that supplies the various screens forming the main body of the machine.

These screens are calibrated according to the type and size of the grain so that only smaller particles—such as weed seeds, broken kernels, and similar materials—pass through the perforations. Larger particles (sticks, pods, husks, etc.) are retained by the screen strategically positioned at the top.

As the oscillating motion generated by the rotation of the flywheel imparts the necessary movement to the grain mass for cleaning, the grain flows toward the discharge hopper, while impurities fall through a system of side trays where they are subsequently collected.

Machine Features

  • Models available with capacities ranging from 40 to 400 T/h, with the possibility of future capacity expansion.
  • Constructed from folded steel sheet, cleaned and treated with double polyurethane protective coating.
  • Oscillating body system mounted on eight steel cables, facilitating easy replacement of screens and/or perforated plates.
  • The interior of the screens contains rubber balls that ensure automatic self-cleaning.
  • Each screen deck has individually adjustable feed control.

Principle of Operation

The size of the light impurities sucked into the air stream is adjusted by means of suction control. Heavier particles are separated from the air stream and deposited at the bottom of the suction chamber, from where they are removed by a transversely mounted screw conveyor. The lighter impurities are discharged by the fan at the suction outlet.
If it is necessary to complete the process after suction cleaning, direct discharge can be used.
Otherwise, the product is fed into a rotating drum with replaceable screens after suction. The first screen removes the waste, and the good-quality grains pass through the other screens. The remaining particles are separated at the end of the sieve drum.

Main advantages of the machine:

  • High performance
  • Vibration-free operation
  • Flexibility for different types of grain
  • Low energy consumption
  • Independent air pre-filter
  • Suction and screen pre-filter
  • Screen cleaner
  • Classifier cleaner
  • Calibration cleaner

Pneumatic pre-cleaning

Principle of Operation Incoming material falls onto a ribbed cone that causes it to rotate. This rotation ensures that the grain falls as a continuous, very fine curtain onto the cleaning air stream. The air stream is controlled manually or electrically to ensure that only unwanted additives are removed from the product. Pneumatic pre-cleaning is designed to remove dust, straw, light seeds, and additives from combinable crops and other granular materials. It is ideal for pre-cleaning applications at the inlet of a grain drying and storage system. In addition, its robust construction and optional galvanized finish give it exceptional durability.

Main features:

  • Capacity of 40 to 200 tons per hour.
  • Can be located indoors or outdoors.
  • Robust construction with optional galvanized finish.
  • Unique grain flow provides efficient performance.
  • Can be combined with other cleaning systems such as screen cleaners or rotary drum cleaners for best results.
  • Effective in difficult harvesting conditions.
